We are all living life with different struggles. We are all navigating life, and though we travel our own paths, we encounter the same themes and realities under different circumstances. A tarot deck is representative of the spectrum of the human experience. Each card in tarot has a traditional meaning and each deck the creator’s interpretation of that meaning. Kaila Wilde uses her knowledge and interpretation of the tarot as a personal growth tool and to create an affirmative statement + note to keep us lifted and to remind us that we are not alone.
Each week, take what you need. Leave what you don’t.
Card:
Eight of Pentacles (Coins)
Affirmation:
Perfecting my craft and skillset makes me a master.
Reflection:
We long for success somehow forgetting that the road to it is long and paved with our own hard work and sacrifice. We long for success yet despise the very things that are necessary in order to reach it.
The Eight of Pentacles is a reminder to make sure that we are doing the work and perfecting our crafts and skills to the highest capacity - until we are masters. The “doing the work” season is often not glamorous because it is uncomfortable and sometimes unfamiliar. You have to put in a lot of time. You have to give up a lot of shit that isn’t conducive to the visions or the dreams - that hobby? Cut back for a minute. That person that cannot go to the next level with you? Release them. That bullshitting you doing? Stop it. At some point, we must really look in the mirror and ask ourselves am I really giving this the best of me? When the answer is no, start putting in your best work to master your shit.
There will be a time to shine but the Eight of Pentacles is about the grind it takes to do so and the value in it. Only someone who has mastered their craft can even begin to create a masterpiece. We become masters at whatever it is that we do by putting in the work required and making temporary (sometimes permanent) sacrifices that are necessary for the vision or the dream.
Application
Schedule and dedicate time to perfecting your crafts and skillsets. You will only improve and become a master by doing whatever it is that you need to be doing - studying, practicing, rehearsing, applying, etc. as often as you feasibly can.
Believe and constantly remind yourself that whatever you give up in the spirit of working towards yours visions will be worth it tenfold when the visions are actualized.
