We are all living life with different struggles. We are all navigating life, and though we travel our own paths, we encounter the same themes and realities under different circumstances. A tarot deck is representative of the spectrum of the human experience. Each card in tarot has a traditional meaning and each deck the creator’s interpretation of that meaning. Kaila Wilde uses her knowledge and interpretation of the tarot as a personal growth tool and to create an affirmative statement + note to keep us lifted and to remind us that we are not alone.
Each week, take what you need. Leave what you don’t.
Card:
The World
Affirmation:
I am whole.
Reflection:
What does it mean to be whole?
The World is often symbolic of wholeness. On one hand, wholeness speaks to going through and overcoming. We celebrate things and we mourn others. We experience the highest of highs of the lowest of lows. We learn that throughout the duration of our life, we will experience various trials and tribulations (grief, loss, trauma, discrimination, etc.). These burdens at times and to some extent break us or make us feel broken, but as we navigate and work through our personal tribulations, eventually we reach a state of peace. We reach a state where we learn to function and thrive in spite of what we’ve been through or no matter what we may face. If we’re willing to do the work that is required to get there, life is about reaching wholeness over and over and over again. As we heal, we move closer to reaching wholeness. As we gain wisdom, we move closer to reaching wholeness.
On the other hand, wholeness speaks to the value of balance and harmony. One of the ultimate goals is to obtain balance and harmony in all areas of our life - mentally, emotionally, spiritually, financially, etc. This does not mean a perfect life, but a sound life which we all have the potential to experience. Reaching and sustaining clarity on managing the various areas of our lives while simultaneously leaving a space for the uncertainties is a reflection of wholeness. We know it is on the horizon as we feel the various areas of our lives come together and be as sound as they can conceivably be. As we create balance in our lives, we move closer to wholeness. As we create harmony in our lives, we move closer to wholeness.
Application:
Heal your pain. Go to therapy. Surround yourself with supportive loved ones. Laugh. Eat. Move your body. Pray. Journal. Meditate. Do whatever you need to do as long as it is good for you.
Figure out how to create balance in your life. Talk to people who you know have balance and talk to people who you know don’t (learn what to do and what not to do). Read books on the topic. Listen to podcast and interviews on the topic.
**I recommend Boundaries by Henry Cloud and John Townsend. One of my favorite books. We can’t have balance without boundaries.
