Wilde Card: The Value in Being, Creating, and Nurturing

We are all living life with different struggles. We are all navigating life, and though we travel our own paths, we encounter the same themes and realities under different circumstances. A tarot deck is representative of the spectrum of the human experience. Each card in tarot has a traditional meaning and each deck the creator’s interpretation of that meaning. Kaila Wilde uses her knowledge and interpretation of the tarot as a personal growth tool and to create an affirmative statement + note to keep us lifted and to remind us that we are not alone.

Each week, take what you need. Leave what you don’t.

Some Sundays, I step away from my standard affirmation/reflection/application format and just go with whatever flow I’m feeling. I refer to these notes as Wilde Cards ;)

Being

The concept of being has been an important part of my life for awhile now. So what does it mean to just be? What is being? Being is simply existing. Existing in the sense of living in and for the present moment. Being (existing) doesn’t come easy for many of us because we are so use to doing (action). Additionally, our society values doing over being, and there can be a lot of shame and guilt attached to being. Just like almost everything in this world - balance is key; There is a time to do, and there is a time to be. The right amount of being is what allows us to do things effectively and efficiently. The right amount of being is what renews and invigorates us so that we can navigate through life with peace, and it allows us to experience life in totality.

I challenge you this week to be just as much as you do.

Creating

Whenever we bring something into existence, we create. For most of my life, I viewed creating as this special skill that only certain people were capable of. At this point in my life, I’ve learned that we are not all capable of creating the same things, but the power to create to some degree lives in each of us. In order for most of us to be content with our life’s journey, it’s important that we figure out what it is that we are capable of creating and start creating it. Regardless of if we’re aware of it or not and to differing levels, inside of each of us is a desire for connection. Our ability to create and then share those creations with others is a large part of the human and spiritual experience that we are after.

I challenge you this week to create

Nurturing

To some capacity, we all require nurturing and we all must display a nurturing spirit. When we take what we have or what we know to take care of and encourage the growth of another, simultaneously we open ourselves to that kind of nurturing. We nurture others when we deeply listen. We nurture others when we share wisdom and our experiences. We nurture others when we show concern for their well-being. On the flip slide, we also need to be heard, to obtain wisdom from others, and to have our concerns addressed. As much as many of us would like to believe that we can do life on our own, we can’t; We need each other. The sooner we learn that in order to receive nurturing we must give it, the more likely we are to encounter  it in both the most expected and unexpected ways.

I challenge you this week to nurture others and pay attention to the ways in which you are nurtured.
