We are all living life with different struggles. We are all navigating life, and though we travel our own paths, we encounter the same themes and realities under different circumstances. A tarot deck is representative of the spectrum of the human experience. Each card in tarot has a traditional meaning and each deck the creator’s interpretation of that meaning. Kaila Wilde uses her knowledge and interpretation of the tarot as a personal growth tool and to create an affirmative statement + note to keep us lifted and to remind us that we are not alone.

Card:
Six of Cups
Affirmation:
I make freshness in love a priority.
Reflection:
Ain’t nothing like new love. Young love. Fresh love.
The Six of Cups represents youth in love. Youth in love from the perspective of developing and sustaining a freshness or newness in love. Many times, the start of a relationship is one of the happiest stages. It is new. It is fun. It is alive. As like all things, relationships experience changes, and the youthful quality that was once present sometimes fades away as relationships mature. That is why it is vital that we see the value in the wisdom that comes with the maturing of a relationship while also making an intentional decision to maintain a freshness in love. When we fail to maintain a freshness in love we provide the space and opportunity for withering to take place in our relationships.
Furthermore, this card reminds us of the sincere and tender elements of love. As a child, sincerity and tenderness generally consist of being honest and kind. As an adult, sincerity and tenderness creates a space for transparency and trust to blossom. We can be vulnerable in this space because we recognize this person wouldn’t intentionally or maliciously harm us.
Our relationships are ever-evolving because we are ever-evolving, and the warmth of sincerity and tenderness in love can provide a sanctuary of solace we can rest in. In love, these elements make the sweetest days sweeter and the bitter days bearable and, hopefully, worth it.
Application
Maintain a space for fun in love. If we are not careful, the responsibilities of life begin to disproportionately impact our lives. Be spontaneous. Set aside time for activities that bring satisfaction. Be silly. Celebrate the small things in meaningful ways.
As often as possible, operate from a place of understanding or a willingness to understand. Listen. Be gentle. Be warm. Be genuine.
